AutoDetailer Studio has always taken great care in utilising the best products in the industry, and so for this 100th blog post (yes we kept track!), we introduce the future of vehicle protection. In this area, ClearGuard Alpha and SatinGuard represent the best of established films, and now joining them in our protection arsenal is SPPF.

Short for Spray Paint Protection Film, SPPF is, as its name suggests, a paint protection film that is applied via a spray gun, unlike established films. This revolutionary new product and its application methodology are fully developed in Japan, and unique advantages come with this advanced installation technique.

Complex shapes can also be protected

Imagine a modern vehicle – cacophony of surfaces with complex shapes: wings, air inlets and outlets, canards, fins, and bumpers with creases within creases. These shapes are either impossible to fully protect via established films or they are absurdly tedious to do so, but they present no challenge for SPPF. Full vehicle protection is possible without any compromise.

Innovative technology = superior protection

SPPF features multiple layers, each with a different function. Built into the foundation layer is Hyper-Flex Impact Absorption, which acts as a shock absorber to disperse impact damage, while the outermost layer is a hard, damage-resistant clearcoat. Just like a paint clearcoat, this layer can be polished and reapplied without removing the other layers, eliminating scratches and imperfections so the car can get back to its flawless state, easily. Both of these features are unheard of in established paint protection films.

Remove and reapply

Most established PPF can self-heal. Our own ClearGuard Alpha even features true self-healing, needing only exposure to oxygen to repair itself. However, only light scratches will self-heal; when damage is too extensive, only removal and reapplication can restore the finish. With SPPF, the hard clearcoat can be repaired via polishing, and when damage goes beyond that, it can be easily peeled off and reapplied. Your vehicle will be fully protected and flawless again in no time.

Colour change

This revolutionary feature adds personalisation without compromises. Within the layers of SPPF, an additional layer of colour can be added. Just like repainting your vehicle, any colour is possible – Estoril Blue, Nardo Grey, Rossa Corsa, you name it. But unlike repainting, changing colour is as simple as peeling off the SPPF and reapplying a new one. SPPF offers a faster way to transform your vehicle, while safeguarding its value as the original colour is preserved and protected beneath the film.
